In the first simple example, communication between the operators was mentioned. In the above example we have added a central section of track where trains may stand at a signal and this is quite useful where an operator may not be ready to accept a train. It is assumed that the fiddle yard signals are controlled locally by buttons or switches, (better still a second lever frame!). The signals marked FY1 starter and FY2 starter are operated by the respective fiddle yard operators. Activating them (normally by a push button) causes a flashing LED to light on the signal box diagram alerting the station controller that a train is ready. Seeing this and if safe to do so, he will set the route and pull the appropriate signal 4 or 5, (this also allows signal arm FY1 starter or FY2 starter to "come off"). As explained before, track power is given to the blue controller and he may drive the train to its destination. (Pulling 4 or 5 will also stop the LED flashing and when 4 or 5 is restored to normal, FY1 or FY2 will also go to danger.) When a train is ready to depart the station, the signalman will set the route and pull either 1 or 2, the starter signals. This will alert the correct fiddle yard that a train is ready so that he may drive the train after changing his home signal, normally a button. Thsi action will allow signal 1 or 2 to "come off" and apply the correct fiddle yard track power to the whole
